Halloween Handprints—Witches and Ghosts

Another pretty easy craft coming your way! Hand prints! These double as keepsakes, as I call them. Who doesn’t want to look back and see how tiny their kiddos hand was when they were 3??

As someone who grew up in a home where my mom didn’t keep anything I ever made, let me tell you it hurt as a kid (and even as an adult, now) that she never thought anything was good enough to keep.

I don’t keep everything mind you, but hand prints, I don’t know, I don’t see the harm in keeping hand prints so I can remember my baby’s tiny little hands when I’m old and grey.

Anyways, enough of that, let’s get into handprints!

Big tip for handprints: have baby wipes handy so you can immediately wipe paint covered hands!

Hand print art is usually done in sessions—unless it’s just the handprint and you’re not decorating it.

We did witches and ghosts!

The witches were a little easier than the ghosts, meaning they took less time and prep.
All you need to do is paint their hands green and press it to paper, let it dry then draw the face, or you can use googly eyes.
Then cut out a simple witches hat and glue it on.

The ghosts take a bit more time and prep. We used a paper plate for these cuties, and if you do the same I’d recommend not using the plates that have the glossy coating. We used markers on them and they took so long to dry and the markers bled thru the ghosts.
You’ll need to trace their hands and let them cut it out (if that’s age appropriate). You’ll also need to cut out pumpkins and a moon and let them glue those on!
I also let my kiddos draw the ghost’s faces, but if they’re not old enough, you can draw them!

Another ghostly hand print craft that’s easier than above!
Trace their hand and let them cut it out (if appropriate). Have them draw a face and glue it to a piece of paper. You can also cut out a moon, draw bats or stars, or use stickers to decorate the background!

If you and your kiddos decide to this tag me on social media! I’d love to see them!
