Another Polish recipe, because I love it that much! I say this for every dish I post, but this is one of my favourite. Listen, I’m never going to post a recipe that isn’t my favourite!
Mizeria is a simple polish salad, it’s so refreshing, it’s perfect during the warmer months, but honestly I’d eat it all year round.
Fun fact, “mizeria” means “misery” in Polish.
I make Mizeria slightly different than traditionally, but it’s only a taste preference. Traditionally mizeria is made with salt and vinegar. I personally am not a fan of vinegar and we try to not use too much salt! Especially when the other ingredients already have salt in them. Feel free to if you like salt and vinegar.

What you’ll need:
- Cucumber (Up to you, this dictates how much mizeria you end up with. This recipe is for 2 cucumbers)
- 1 container of Forager Cashewgurt unflavoured (this, to me, tastes exactly like sour cream). For this post we used Kitehill cream cheese, and about 1/2 TBS of lemon juice. It tastes wonderful!
- 1 TBS dill
- 2-3 TBS Chopped green onion
That’s it!
How to:
Chop your cucumbers in about 3mm thick slices (it really doesn’t matter, just slice them)
Dump them into a bowl and add the rest of your ingredients.
Add the Cashewgurt, dill and chopped green onion.
it’s literally that simple! If you were doing the vinegar thing I’d say let the cucs marinate a bit.
