Vampire Blood—A Halloween Delicacy

A quick search online and you’ll see tons of Halloween recipes that aren’t healthy, meaning full of dyes and chemicals.

If you choose not to eat those types of things that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun festive treats!

And here’s the thing, your kid isn’t going to know the difference between this treat and something with dyes, if you don’t make a big deal of it.
My motto is “kids don’t crave what they don’t eat.” So if you’re struggling with getting your kids off of koolaid, they’re not the one buying the koolaid, you are. Stop buying it.
Our kids have never had dyes, and they don’t ask for things with dyes. They’re happy enough with things like this recipe, so let’s get into it!

Vampire blood!

You’ll need:

Apple juice, frozen berries like cherries (which I know aren’t berries), strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries.

Take the frozen fruits and microwave them until they’re thawed (or just thaw them throughout the day). Muddle them and strain them to get the bloody red juice.

Pour a glass of apple juice and pour in the red juice making a deep red drink!

If you’re short on time or energy you can obviously just use natural food colouring like Watkins if you’d like!
